Kickboard drill video

The Kickboard drill isolates your leg movement allowing you to focus on producing an efficient leg kick.

Swimming with legs only can be tough due to limited propulsion, fins can be helpful if you find this drill difficult. Start to kick with a float outstretched in front of you.

Keep the head down to keep the hips up until you need to pop up for air, or you can use a snorkel.

Feel the tips of the fins lightly brushing quickly against each other to improve rhythm.

Aim for a straight leg upsweep, but it is ok to bend the knee slightly on the down sweep.

Avoid pointing the toes down towards the floor by relaxing your ankles.
